Mine & Quarry Service Co Pty Ltd was incorporated, in 1999, to service the local market for the ESCO range of ground engaging tools and ancillary products. In 2000, the range was expanded to include the Kennametal range of Carbide Tools and Grader Blades and FSP Wheel Chocks, Cabinets, Hose Reels and other molded items for the mining and construction industries.
In 2001, we agreed to assist in the development of an exciting new product which was in the early stages of introduction. Polymer technology in stabilisation and dust suppression was developed in collaboration with several Local Government bodies and the Department of Transport. Field trials were conducted to assess the merit of polymer stabilisation in the unsealed road network.
Our ESCO distribution and service activity was recanted by Bradken and so, from July 2002, the focus and endeavour of the enterprise was directed primarily towards the further development of polymer stabilisation and subsequent dust suppression.
This technology has gained acceptance in every Australian State, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia, further spreading the economic value of this very exciting product development.
At an Institute of Quarrying Malaysia Conference in 2008, DustChem was presented as the workable solution to severe dust emissions at an East Malaysian operation.
Subsequently, MQSCO imported a Foam Generation Unit and conducted a series of trials in South Australia. The DustChem technology is now a significant part of the company’s activities with installations in the South Middleback Ranges Iron ore mines, local quarries and Onesteel’s Whyalla works.
In September 2010, MQSCO was awarded the exclusive distribution and service rights for the range of ESCO mining, quarrying and construction products for South Australia and the Northern Territory.
This agreement takes full effect from the 1st July 2011.
